Lightsource bp has commissioned two solar power projects in Texas, United States. Combined, these new power plants add approximately 288MW of generation capacity to its portfolio in the state, which now surpasses 1GW.
The company invested nearly US$350m to bring Starr Solar, with a capacity of 163MW, and Second Division Solar, 125MW, to life. First Solar and Array Technologies worked as panels and smart solar tracker providers, respectively.
According to Lightsource bp, the two power plants will offset over 380,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
