Celebrating industry leaders, innovation, and resilience while expanding awards program across multiple regions, highlighting achievements in the energy sector.
EIC Rio hosted the "EIC South America Regional Survive & Thrive Awards” to celebrate excellence in the energy industry’s supply Chain.
To celebrate excellence within the energy supply chain, EIC has expanded its annual awards program to encompass multiple regions. This expansion complements the flagship event, the EIC National Awards Dinner, scheduled for October 19, 2023, in London. Regional offices in South America, North America, and the Middle East inaugurated their award ceremonies on September 14th. Our Asia Pacific office is set to host their event in November.
The awards follow the release of the EIC Survive and Thrive Report earlier this year. Award winners were selected from among nearly 100 companies whose leaders were extensively interviewed to discuss their companies' strategic outlooks and the successes they have achieved across various areas, including digitalisation, innovation, diversification, and transformation.
The highlight of the evening was an interview led by Roberto Ardenghy, CEO President of IBP, with Stuart Broadley, CEO of EIC. Stuart reflected on the journey of the "Survive & Thrive" report, a project initiated seven years ago in the aftermath of the oil crisis. Companies showed resilience in the face of adversity, something that continued during the COVID-19 pandemic, he noted.
Stuart also discussed Brazil's evolving energy landscape, highlighting the nation's commitment to sustainability and decarbonization as key priorities. He pointed to the challenges of achieving net-zero emissions as a complex task, given the financial constraints and the political intricacies of COP commitments, particularly by 2028.
Also at the event, Petrobras and Enauta delivered presentations outlining their industry plans, offering a glimpse into the future of our dynamic sector.
And now, let's talk about the real stars of the evening – the exceptional companies that are driving innovation and excellence our industry:
In the categories of "Diversification & Scale Up" and "Resilience & Optimisation," Equipsea emerged as the victorious company.
In the "Innovation, Technology, & Digital" category, Baker Hughes rightfully claimed the top spot.
These companies are a testament to the resilience, innovation, and dedication that define the energy supply chain.
Congratulations to Equipsea and Baker Hughes, and a heartfelt thank you to all who joined us for this unforgettable evening.
