Uniper has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to Greening for a solar power plant in Germany. The facility is planned to be built in the ash dump of the previous Wilhelmshaven thermal power plant in Lower Saxony.
Covering an area of approximately 14 hectares, the solar park will feature over 28,500 solar modules, reaching a production capacity of 17MWp.
Once operational, it should produce 17,000MWh per annum, equivalent to the needs of nearly 4,500 homes. First power is expected in 2026.
