A planning permission has been granted to Apatura for the deployment of a 400MW battery energy storage system (BESS) in Scotland. To be installed near Stirling, the Denny facility will cover an area of over 11 hectares.
This energy storage project is Apatura's seventh to receive planning consent in the past year. Its total consented portfolio now reaches 1.4GW of capacity.
The Denny BESS plant will also involve the planting of new native species trees at the project's site. Besides supporting the achievement of a resilient energy supply, the initiative will also generate several local jobs and contribute to a community fund.
