SBM Offshore, Technip Energies and TechnipFMC have been awarded several contracts by TotalEnergies for its GranMorgu project offshore Suriname. Located in Block 58, the field is the first development within the area, approximately 150km off the coast.
According to the agreements, SBM Offshore will be responsible for the construction and installation of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. The engineering and design of the vessel's topsides will be conducted by TechnipEnergies, while TechnipFMC will be carrying out the integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract.
The GranMorgu FPSO is expected to have a production capacity of up to 220,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and a gas treatment capacity of up to 500 million cubic feet per day.
TotalEnergies is the operator of GranMorgu, holding a 50% stake in the field in partnership with APA Corporation. Once complete, it will be Suriname's first large deepwater development.
