Centrica has signed a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Petrobras. According to the SPA, Centrica will be responsible for providing 0.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG for a period of 15 years.
The deal will be valid starting in 2027. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
The amount secured by the SPA is equivalent to nearly 30% of Centrica's portfolio in the United States. The LNG will be sourced from Centrica's supply agreements in Sabine Pass and Delfin.
