Galp Energia has received three reactors at its Sines refinery in the Setubal province of Portugal. The machinery is part of the company's aviation fuel and biofuel project.
The initiative is part of a larger transformation of the refinery. According to Galp, Sines will be the first refinery with utility-scale green hydrogen production to feature an advanced biofuel unit.
Both the refinery's elements are already under construction and will require a total investment of approximately US$670m for its completion.
The biofuel production unit is expected to be operational in 2026.
