A JERA-led consortium has been granted a development and operation licence for a 615MW offshore wind power project in Japan. To be built in the Aomori prefecture, the plant should be operational by June 2030.
The Tsugaru Offshore Energy Community consortium is formed by JERA, Green Power Investment and Tohoku Electric Power. According to the companies, the development is one of the largest of its kind in East Asia.
The facility is planned to feature turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa.
