Avantus has firmed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS). The PPA is related to the output generated by Avantus' Kitt solar power project in Pinal County.
According to Avantus, the agreement grants APS the facility's 100MWac/130MWdc generation capacity plus 400MWh of energy storage capacity. Construction for the plant should start next year, with start-up scheduled for 2026.
The Kitt solar park is planned to avoid the emission of 200,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, and will create up to 400 job posts during its construction.
