Sweden has approved a 1.4GW offshore wind farm near Stenungsund. The power plant, named Poseidon, will be able to generate up to 5.5TWh per year once operational.
The project is jointly developed by Vattenfall and Zephyr Vind. It will be installed in Skagerrak and is considered to be Sweden's first offshore wind farm with floating turbines.
Poseidon still needs to secure additional permits before starting construction, including connection to the national grid.
