Linde Engineering has been chosen by NEXTCHEM to provide a carbon capture technology to the Hail and Ghasha project offshore UAE. Developed by ADNOC, the initiative is one of the world's largest for offshore sour gas.
The project will use Linde's HISORP CC, the company's latest adsorption-based solution for the capture, purification and sequestration of carbon dioxide. According to ADNOC, it will capture 1.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of carbon dioxide for underground storage.
ADNOC intends to operate Hail and Ghasha with net zero emissions.
