Mitsubishi Power has recently announced the completion of its 5.3GW natural gas-fired power plant project in Thailand. After multiple development phases, the facility is now fully operational.
With two combined-cycle power plants in the provinces of Chonburi and Rayong, the project involves eight M701JAC turbines. The eighth and final turbine came online on 1 October.
The power plants were developed by a joint venture between Gulf Energy Development Public Co. Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. Mitsubishi was awarded the project, one of its largest, in 2018.
