QatarEnergy has disclosed a solar power project in Qatar. Planned to have a generation capacity of 2GW, the facility will be installed in the Dukhan area of the Qassim province.
The completion of this project will double Qatar's solar power capacity, increasing it to 4GW by 2030. Once operational, the Dukhan solar farm will be one of the largest in the world.
QatarEnergy is also building two new solar power plants in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed, with start-up expected later this year. Combined, both assets will contribute with a total of 875MW of renewable energy.
