Technip Energies has won a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract related to BP's H2Teesside project. The hydrogen facility is planned to generate approximately 160,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen per year.
The company will be responsible for providing a comprehensive design of the site. H2Teesside will feature a hydrogen production plant of up to 1.2GW of thermal capacity, hydrogen pipelines, an air separation unit, carbon dioxide capture and compression facilities and a connection to the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) infrastructure.
ADNOC is a partner in the project, which will be the UK's largest low-carbon production centres once operational.
A final investment decision (FID) on H2Teesside is expected in 2025.
