EDF Renewables currently has a UK project pipeline comprising of over 300MW in energy storage capacity. Within the next year, the company expects to put online six battery storage projects.
These projects include a 57MW battery energy storage system (BESS) in Braintree and a 47.5MW BESS facility in Indian Queens.
Once operational, this pipeline, whose combined capacity reaches 313MW, would produce enough power to meed the demands of more than 400,000 homes for two hours.
This initiative, along with the commissioning of previous energy storage projects in the country, are part of EDF Renewables' commitments to achieving UK energy transition targets.
