Shell and PetroChina's joint venture (JV) for coal seam gas (CSG), Arrow Energy, has disclosed that development works for the phase 2 of the Suragat gas project are currently ongoing. The project's site is located in Queensland, Australia.
Firs gas from phase 2 of the project, which is located in the Western Downs area of the Surat Basin, is scheduled for 2026. It will increase production by more than 130 terajoules of gas per day.
Phase 2 is part of a larger initiative aiming to expand Surat's capabilities. By the end of it, Arrow Energy expects to produce over 4,000 petajoules of gas throughout the asset's operational life.
