Statkraft, developer of the Mossy Hill wind farm in Scotland, has disclosed plans to redesign the project. The new plan will reduce the number of turbines to be installed at the site by one-third, with the objective of lessening the visual and environmental impact of the power plant.
The project was acquired by Statkraft in 2023 after it was already approved by government officials. Originally, Mossy Hill would cover the installation of 12 turbines with a total generation capacity of 48MW. Now, it will feature eight turbines and a total capacity of approximately 36MW.
This month, Statkraft will announce the revised schedule for Mossy Hill, including construction and start-up dates.
