The Kaskida project in the US Gulf of Mexico has reached a final investment decision (FID) by bp. This will be bp's sixth production unit in the region.
Kaskida will feature a floating production platform capable of producing up to 80,000 barrels of crude oil every day. Initially, production will be carried out from six wells, with first oil expected in 2029.
According to data from the field's discovery, this first phase holds recoverable resources at 275 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe). Further development phases may include the drilling of additional wells.
