Greece's public gas company DEPA has been granted a US$421.6m loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The money will be used for the construction and operation of solar power projects across the country.
According to the parties, the amount provided by EIB will enable DEPA to cover 75% of the costs, which is calculated at US$536m in total.
DEPA is planning to install photovoltaic (PV) plants in Macedonia, Thessaly and central Greece. Combined, these projects will add approximately 800MW of renewable capacity to the grid.
