TotalEnergies has acquired a 50% stake in the OranjeWind project from RWE. The initiative consists of a 795MW offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea.
The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
The two companies have now formed a 50-50 joint venture (JV) to handle OranjeWind. The power plant will be located 53km off the coast of the Noord-Holland province.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with operations following in 2026.
Once up and running, OranjeWind will be able to generate approximately 3TWh of power per year, enough to support one million households.
