Vestas has received a wind turbine order from RWE Renewables for the Nordseecluster B offshore wind project. Located off the coast of Germany, the power plant is planned to reach a generation capacity of 900MW once complete.
Nordseecluster B is part of a larger 1.6GW offshore wind power cluster in the North Sea. Developer RWE Renewables reached a final investment decision on the project last May.
Vestas will be responsible for supplying, as well as commissioning, 60 V236-15.0MW turbines. Once the wind farm is operational, Vestas will also work on the asset under a five-year service agreement and a later long-term operational support agreement.
