After a total investment of approximately US$561m, the Tyrving field in the Norwegian North Sea has entered operations. The project was developed by Aker BP and partners Petoro and ORLEN Group through subsidiary PGNiG Upstream Norway.
Tyrving's plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved by Norway's Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in June 2023. The initial forecast predicted that oil production would start in early 2025.
Production from Tyrving is possible via a tie-back to the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in the Alvheim field through existing infrastructure in East Kamaleon. The field is composed by three main discoveries: Trell, Trine and Trell North, which cover estimated resources at 25 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe).
