A front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the West of Orney wind power project has been awarded to Ramboll by developer Offshore Wind Power Limited (OWPL). The offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea is planned to have a capacity of 2GW.
Ramboll will be responsible for the provision of technical information such as total steel quantities, identification and mitigation of risks and technical design requirements. The company will develop designs for monopile and jacket foundation options.
OWPL is a consortium formed by Corio, TotalEnergies and RIDG. The wind farm, located approximately 30km off the coast of Orkney, Scotland, should be operational by 2030.
