Samsung C&T has selected Mitsubishi Power for a project in Saudi Arabia. The company received an order for a M501JAC combined-cycle (CCGT) gas turbine for the Najim power plant.
The 475MW Najim cogeneration cogeneration independent steam and power plant (ISPP) is under development by a special purpose entity formed by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) (which owns 51% of it) and JERA (49%).
The facility is planned to provide power and steam to the Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) Strategic Expansion petrochemical complex in Jubail. A final investment decision (FID) on the complex was recently made by the companies.
