Why Offshore Europe?

The 50th anniversary event will create a space for collaboration and learning in order to drive the oil and gas sector forward, bringing together the entire energy value chain back to business, face to face. 

The energy sector is at a pivotal moment with net zero goals looming closer and the climate emergency becoming more imminent. Europe is becoming home to several large-scale carbon capture developments looking to reduce emissions across industrial clusters and paving the way for regional infrastructure of significant importance. Alongside capturing emissions, Europe is witnessing sweeping deployment of hydrogen, from natural gas in conjunction with carbon capture and from renewable sources.

While we continue to see growth in the clean tech sector, interest in upstream E&P continues especially in UK and Norway. In 2023, it is anticipated that at least nine upstream projects in the region will reach their final investment decision. O&G companies have been given a clear mandate to secure supply in the short term while transitioning to cleaner energy in the long term. Energy security is the utmost priority in Europe, and fossil fuels are integral to the solution. The advancement of projects, investments decision on developments made, pushed by the government, as well as the intensification of efforts to decarbonise the sector are clear indicators of growth and opportunity for the sector.
