The LNG industry is undergoing rapid growth, with 386 MMtpa of regasification capacity expected to be added by the end of the decade through more than 127 projects, requiring a total investment of USD 63 billion.

Europe is playing a major role in this expansion, with 90.7 MMtpa of new capacity projected to come online by 2030. Italy will contribute significantly, accounting for 27% of Europe’s new capacity, and is ranked fifth globally for regasification capacity additions. By 2030, Italy is set to add 25 MMtpa of capacity.

This growth in Italy will be driven by six key projects, representing over USD 3.7 billion in CAPEX investment. The country is emerging as a critical player in the LNG market, creating numerous opportunities for the supply chain. These include both onshore fixed regasification facilities and offshore solutions, such as Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) like the Ravenna FSRU, Tyrrhenian Sea FSRU, and Adriatic Sea FSRU.
