The total estimated CAPEX for energy projects under development in the Middle East is approximately $1.13 trillion, covering all energy sectors. The upstream sector leads with $359.7 billion allocated to 183 projects, followed by the downstream sector with $274.1 billion across 120 projects.

Despite its strong reliance on the oil and gas industry, the region is increasingly focusing on clean energy and energy transition, with $90.3 billion invested in 130 renewable energy projects and $97.3 billion in energy transition initiatives. Saudi Arabia ranks second in the region with $224 billion invested in 165 projects, while the UAE is third with $190.3 billion allocated to 117 projects.
