About this event
Join us on 12 November to get an overview of the opportunities in natural gas in Brazil alongside TAG.
TAG operates more than 4,500km of natural gas pipelines, owning and managing a significant portion of Brazil's gas transportation assets across the North, Northeast and Southeast regions.
Recently, the company inaugurated a new gas pipeline that allows the interconnection between its gas national transportation network and Eneva's LNG import terminal in Sergipe, enabling the surplus of gas produced by an FSRU to flow through TAG's infrastructure as well as enabling the reverse gas flow from the TAG network onto the Porto de Sergipe I CCPP.
Earlier this year, TAG and Origem Energia announced a non-binding agreement to jointly develop a natural gas storage project in Brazil. The initiative aims to address the rising demand for flexible solutions that enhance fuel movement, thereby providing greater liquidity and security for companies in the natural gas market. Origem Energia will oversee the service using its assets in Alagoas, while TAG contributes its extensive natural gas transport network in Brazil.
This initiative stems from the New Gas Law, effective in Brazil since 2021. Establishing storage is crucial for balancing natural gas production and consumption, and its implementation will help reduce Brazil's reliance on imported gas. As the gas market develops, this project will support the production of domestic gas and may encourage the entry of new suppliers and consumers into the national network.
