About this event

The UK is currently on track to miss its net zero by 2050 target. It's crucial to redefine our approach to decarbonising the UK's energy system effectively.

The Region will play a pivotal role in this transition, with the industrial clusters expected to lead the way in advancing the UK's carbon capture and storage (CCS) and hydrogen markets. These efforts will unlock significant investment, secure jobs, and help decarbonise sectors that are difficult to electrify.

DNV and EIC are excited to bring you this brunch - A Five Year Vision for the Region B
usiness Brunch -where we'll explore the progress made and discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the energy clusters in the regions. Key discussions will include:

  • How anchor and infrastructure projects within industrial clusters will facilitate local generation, consumption, and trading of renewable energy.
  • The broader impact of industrial clusters in the North of England on the UK economy.
