About this event

The EIC is happy to announce the first Macaé Breakfast - Upstream Opportunities in Brazil with Halliburton and Constellation.

Halliburton, a company with over a century of history in the market, stands as a global leader in providing cutting-edge products and services to the energy sector. In Brazil, over their almost 70 years of local work, the company established itself in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, Catu and Mossoró; pioneering innovative technologies and solutions, optimising asset value and fostering a sustainable energy landscape.

In April 2024, the company announced its highest profits in over a decade, extending an impressive streak of growth spanning 11 consecutive months, despite prevailing challenges in the schist market.

Last December, Halliburton secured a substantial contract with Petrobras in Brazil, aimed at developing a digital twin system for the expansive pre-salt reserves of the Mero field, located offshore in the Santos Basin.

Constellation is deeply committed to advancing the oil and gas industry through offshore drill ships and semi-submersible rigs, as well as onshore rigs. In Brazil, the company plays a crucial role in Petrobras' ultra-deepwater (UDW) fields, significantly contributing to the success of Brazil's pre-salt operations.

Last December, the company secured contract extensions from Petrobras for two of its rigs. The Atlantic Star, a semi-submersible built in 1976, will remain operational until January 2025. Additionally, the Amaralina Star, a drillship constructed in 2012, has been contracted for an additional 12 months, keeping it active offshore Brazil until October 2025.

In January 2024, Constellation inked a five-year agreement with HMH to enhance the operational efficiency of its Alpha Star, Gold Star, and Lone Star semi-submersible drilling rigs. This comprehensive deal covers parts supply, maintenance using equipment data and round-the-clock engineering support from HMH's team aboard Constellation rigs.
